About!

Alexa Lostaunau is a Peruvian-American actor, writer, not bad at singing-er, can dance-r, and clown. She was born outside of Boston and is now based in New York. She is excited to expand her community in the creative world by supporting artists and one another in building meaningful projects… and silly ones. The window to her discovery of film and love of storytelling & acting was opened by “The Avengers.” It sparked her interest in Marvel movies… then movies as a whole! She’s been writing stories since the 1st grade, and always remembers her high school friend (whom she respected comedically) complimenting her by saying, “Y’know I think you’re the funniest person here.” It fueled her confidence in her goals. Comedy and entertainment were always with her growing up. She attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, graduated with an AOS, and became a Company Member. During her Company year, she was able to work with directors in diverse plays. One in which she, with other actors, collaborated with the director to create a new devised play. With clowns! MAD MAD MAD then went Off-Off Broadway. An experience that has shown Alexa the possibilities and ways to create, with clown and improv, and certain rules to help “play the game.”
Thoughtful, observant, and remarkably curious, she strives to continue creating art that puts underrepresented voices in the forefront and the honest complexities of being human.

In recent news…

Alexa is currently acting in and will be producing a stage production of Matt & Ben by Mindy Kaling and Brenda Withers later this 2026. She is excited to start this adventure with her two friends, Melody Staller and Fernando Zermeno Garavito, who are also co-producers, with Melody playing Matt, and Fernando as our director. And Alexa as Ben.

She read the play and loved the concept of two women playing two white men, with ties to her hometown, and she wanted to bring her own version to life.
